Special Weather Statement issued July 10 at 6:59PM MDT by NWS Pueblo CO At 659 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles west of Cheraw to 8 miles southwest of Las Animas to 8 miles east of Higbee. Movement was north at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... La Junta, North La Junta, Rocky Ford, Las Animas, Swink, Sugar City, Cheraw, and Higbee. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
