Forthe High Rip Current Risk, through late tonight.* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions andlocalized beach erosion. Rip currents can sweep even the bestswimmers away from shore into deeper water.High surf will affect the beaches in the advisory area, producinglocalized beach erosion and dangerous swimming conditions.Swimmers should remain out of the water due to large breakingwaves and dangerous surf conditions.Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly awayfrom shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in thesandbar and in the vicinity of structures such as jetties andpiers. Heed the advice of lifeguards, beach patrol flags andsigns.

Marine Weather Statement issued June 20 at 7:18PM EDT by NWS Melbourne FLThe areas affected include...Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 0-20 nm...Flagler Beach to Volusia-Brevard County Line 20-60 nm...Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 0-20 nm...Volusia-Brevard County Line to Sebastian Inlet 20-60 nm...At 717 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a shower, capable of producingwinds to around 30 knots. This shower was located 32 nm northeast ofApollo Beach, moving west at 25 knots. Additional showers andisolated lightning storms will continue to move from east to westacross the local waters this evening and overnight. Some willproduce gusty winds.Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higherwaves, and occasional lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safeharbor immediately until this activity passes. A special marinewarning may eventually be required when strong showers and isolatedthunderstorms reach the nearshore waters. Boaters should considerheading for shore before this activity arrives.
