Flood Warning issued June 11 at 2:18PM CDT until June 12 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas... Neosho River at Oswego affecting Cherokee and Labette Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River at Oswego. * WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, The left bank begins to overflow and floods agricultural fields. Also, the dirt county road, 13000 Road, along the north side of the river bank starts to flood at 1.5 miles downstream of gage site where the bridge crosses Lightning Creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.0 feet this evening. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued late tonight at 230 AM CDT.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 11 at 5:28PM CDT until June 11 at 6:30PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS At 527 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Altamont to 6 miles east of Liberty, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Oswego, Chetopa, Altamont, Edna, Mound Valley, Bartlett, Labette, and Angola. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.
