Mild overnight temperatures will also not allow for much reprieve from the hot and humid conditions. * WHERE...Portions of south central Indiana and east central, north central, northwest, and south central Kentucky. * WHEN...Until 9 PM EDT /8 PM CDT/ Thursday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Green River at Munfordville affecting Hart County. Green River near Mammoth Cave affecting Edmonson County. Green River at Woodbury affecting Butler and Warren Counties. Green River at Rochester affecting Ohio, Butler and Muhlenberg Counties. .Recent heavy rain has caused the river to rise. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Green River near Mammoth Cave. * WHEN...Until Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Green River Ferry closes to RV and trailer traffic due to high water. Heavy loads will be at the judgment of the ferry operator considering the 12 ton load limit of ferry. Backcountry camping on the Green River floodplain is prohibited. At 20.1 feet, Launching of paddle craft is prohibited. At 32.0 feet, Green River Ferry closes to all traffic due to high water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 35.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 AM CDT Monday was 35.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 36.9 feet tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Wednesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 32.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 38.0 feet on 12/19/2019. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
