In northeast Kentucky, Johnson and Martin. In south central Kentucky, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. Flood Advisory issued June 18 at 11:46AM EDT until June 18 at 3:00PM EDT by NWS Jackson KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, Breathitt, Floyd, Knott, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Perry and Pike. * WHEN...Until 300 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1146 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pikeville, Hazard, Whitesburg, Hindman, Letcher, Estill, Bath, Jenkins, Elkhorn City, Wheelwright, Fleming-Neon, Pippa Passes, Wayland, Vicco, Blackey, Kite, Hollybush, Topmost, Raven and Dry Creek. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
