Beach Hazards Statement issued June 29 at 4:45PM CDT until July 1 at 4:00AM CDT by NWS Green Bay WI * WHAT...High waves and dangerous currents expected. * WHERE...Beaches along Lake Michigan in Door, Kewaunee and Manitowoc Counties. * WHEN...Through late Tuesday night. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming conditions are expected. Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Several beaches that will be most susceptible to the dangerous swimming conditions include... Rock Island State Beach, Baileys Harbor beaches and Whitefish Dunes Beach in Door County. Cresent Beach and City of Kewaunee Beach in Kewaunee County. Point Beach, Neshotah Beach and Red Arrow Beach in Manitowoc County. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

Extreme Heat Warning issued June 29 at 9:51AM CDT until June 30 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Green Bay WI * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 107 expected inland, away from Lake Michigan. Overnight heat indices will remain around 75 degrees, which will still be hazardous for anyone without shelter after the extreme heat in the afternoon. * WHERE...Manitowoc, Door, and Kewaunee Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
